Jumpsuits and Ravioli

Today we went to the library in Elkridge for storytime. (ok..they call it "Playpartners" but I think that's a silly name.) The room was very nice...much bigger than the one in Columbia. I do enjoy a little elbow room. Though, now I've had "The Ravioli Song" playing in my head for the last 9 hours.

Amedeo wore his red jumpsuit. Why is it that babies are the only people who look good in jumpsuits? Here are two pictures to compare.

I will not be joining the 2008 jumpsuit fashion trend...sorry.

Diaper Box Derby, Here We Come!!!

Emily (http://www.thekentobeans.blogspot.com/), has issued a challenge: make a derby car out of an empty diaper box. Here we go!

Here I am preparing the box with some help from my technical advisor, Violet.

Amedeo doesn't like the looks of the crew...they don't look very competent.

Amedeo tries to convince Violet to join him as his copilot, with little success.

A good view of the rocket thrusters...imported from Fiji.

This derby model has a state of the art control panel.

It's hard work being a derby champ...

Thanks for the suggestion, Emily...I had a good time! (And Pietro spent 20 minutes playing with the box too!)

Dee-dong!

Last night, Pietro, was watching Amedeo while I was making dinner. Who knew he was so hilarious?!?

Today we went to Lindsey's Lounge, and drank some delish mojitos. It was my first tasting of this beverage...now it is my new favorite! Too bad summer is practically over.

Busy weekend

We had some friends over for lunch on Saturday...midday seems to be the best time to socialize. We thought Amedeo would be up and terrorizing everyone throughout the meal, but he slept through the whole thing.

On Sunday, we went to a birthday party and had some delicious chocolate cake...unfortunately they sent us home with some, and I've eaten my second helping a few minutes ago.

This morning, I dropped Amedeo off at Grandma's house so I could take two of our cats to the vet for their shots. I'm not sure how we're going to spend the rest of the day...I need to return some stuff to the Children's Place at Arundle Mills.

These pics were taken last weekend...I can't keep up with the blogging and the pics...

Messy messy messy

Amedeo's first teething biscuit. He enjoyed it very much...I really should have put a bib on him. Oh well...

I swear, he chewed on the thing for twenty minutes straight. After that, he'd take it out of his mouth and mash it on his socks.

Zero Balancing

Our dear little babe had his first session of Zero Balancing today. It's an energy modality...almost like acupuncture, but without the needles. (Yes, it's a little on the woo-woo-boogie-woogie side, but hell, I'll try ANYTHING to get back on track.) I had lots of acupuncture when I was pregnant, but stopped after the birth. A friend of my mom's mentioned that some ZB might help balance him and hopefully help with the sleeping, eating, reflux, and general crankiness.

I learned that Amedeo is a cognitive baby (versus physical, emotional...etc). He gazes at everything intently and is very high in Shin energy. His kidney chakras were blocked/closed, so there was a disconnect between the upper and lower body. Mostly, this is due to the fact that he isn't crawling or walking. Karl assured us that he would feel better and sleep better when he became more mobile. The lower half of his body doesn't have a 'purpose' right now, so the energy doesn't move as freely. I can help him by doing some foot massage and by holding some points on the bottoms of his feet.

One of the other things I can do to help Amedeo is take care of myself. Karl didn't charge us for the session with the requirement that I return without the babe and have a session myself. Apparently, I'm a little tense. (duh!) And, my tension is reflected in the baby. I made an appointment for next Saturday. I admit that I'm really looking forward to it! I loved acupuncture...I definitely have a hard time relaxing.

He also gave me contact info for an herbal pharmacist who might be able to help with the reflux.

Ok, enough of the blah blah blah and chicken waving....

Hopefully, we can change this....

To this....
