Spring cleaning

Amedeo showed some interest in this pan and brush. I'm trying to encourage him as much as possible. So, he swept up some dirt, but then dumped it out on the floor again. Ah well.

It's all happening at the Zoo!

And, here's a picture of the prince riding in his chariot as usual. He could see much better from the carrier than he could from the stroller, but it was hot and I was dressed a little too warmly.

Before we went to the zoo, we had lunch with my cousin, Meg and her family. They live in Kentucky and were visiting their son who attends American University. Here are two of her girls, Ellen and Sarah. Amedeo really liked flirting with them.

Here is Mike...he taught Amedeo the joys of pea flinging from a fork. Good job, Uncle Mike!

And here is the other side of the group...I never did get a picture of Grandpa or Pietro...poor neglected men. Next time, I will, I promise!

It was a fun day...tiring, but fun.

Where is Spring?

I'm dying for some warm weather. Please please please come soon, Spring!

ps...these glasses stayed on for 10 seconds. good luck getting them on when he actually needs them.

Crafty Ladies

I'm pleased to report that we had a very successful craft session yesterday...there were lots of cute creations!


Here we have Emily2 working on her Jackzilla with Lindsey observing...You can see a better photo of her dragon on her blog.



Using the iron and the hairdryer. Denise on the left, learned that the iron works best when it is plugged in. Tee hee hee.




This was a popular spot for whining babies...and here is Melanie working on her very cute dragonfly shirt.



The babies played nicely together for the most part...when they weren't stealing toys or food from each other.


It was a little too crazy for me to do anything, so I made this shirt after I fed the boys dinner.

Lunch with Daddy

Today we were lucky to have Poppy home for lunch. We did not have caviar on toast as was requested...but leftovers. Those weren't too bad. Some food was thrown on the floor. Ketchup was eaten by all.

Woo Hoo

Today is my 70th post! Yipee! To celebrate, here is a video of the champ using his new skills in the noisiest way possible.




His walking is getting better and better...it's almost a daily progress. I can't think of any other skill mastering that he did at such a pace. Maybe because it's really really fun!

Freezer Paper Stencils

Here's the paint I bought. You can mix most colors with this selection...and some puffy paint to do the details.

Here are the stencils cut out and ironed on to some fabric. If you're really careful, you can get two stencils out of one cutout.

Here's the paint on the fabric. I iron freezer paper to the BACK of the project to keep paint from bleeding.

And this is what the cars look like without the paper. Cool, huh? All of this took me about 20 minutes...pretty fast!

Another Friday the 13th

Did anyone notice that this is the second Friday the 13th? We had one last month too!! Does that mean it's a lucky day, or that it's an extra bad luck day? To ward off the evil spirits, we spent some time playing at Grandma's house. Amedeo had a good time practicing his walking skills.

Oggi e' venerdi tredici!!! Abbiamo avuto un altro venerdi tredici in febbraio!!! Cosi' oggi e' molto molto fortunato o molto molto sfortunato?? Per evitare i spiriti cattivi, abbiamo giocato a casa dei nonni. Amedeo si e' divertito a practicare le sue capacita' di caminare.

And, Grandpa went to the deli to get us lunch. Here he is demonstrating his lightning fast napkin reflexes.
E, il nonno ha avuto alla gastronomia per il pranzo. Ecco, lui mostra il suo riflessi veloci con un tovagliolo.

Recap of the week

So far, we haven't had any more snow since the last post...hopefully we'll have a pleasant and long spring! On Tuesday, we went to Emily's house. Here's a pic of Lindsey holding Cadence and Jack...looking pretty cozy!

Yesterday, we had lunch at Kelly's house...delicious food provided by Petra. Here's Petra with Kelly's daughter, Anya...and little Amedeo in the background.

Today, we relaxed at home mostly except for a trip to Trader Joe's. Nothing exciting to report.

Monday's Snow Day

Everyone else beat me to it! You ladies are super fast when it comes to posting pics...here I am two days later with the snow pics. Ah well...I try.

Why is it that it takes SO long to get ready to play in the snow? I think this time it took an hour and a half. Part of that time was spent blowing up this tubing thingie. We don't have a super cool baby sled like Jillian, so we had to improvise.


Amedeo is helping Poppy with his awful looking boots. Perhaps we need to take him boot shopping!


And now for the ride! Both Pietro and I had a great time dragging the baby around the yard. Amedeo seemed to have fun, but he was perplexed by the snow.

Finally, they let me out so I could play in the snow. Mom didn't get me a snow suit, so I was pretty wet and cold by the time I was finished...


Here's Amedeo's bathtub. We popped him in there since he seemed a little chilly. The bottom of the tub is rusty, so we've been using a giant plastic bin instead. It works well and has the added benefit of keeping Amedeo away from the faucet and taps.

It isn't really that steamy in the bathroom...the lens was cold from being outside and kept fogging...

Everything at Once

This morning, Amedeo discovered that he CAN walk. He would take a few steps and fall into my or Pietro's arms. Then, this afternoon, he was able to make it a bit farther. Amazing the difference just a few hours makes!!!
