Decorations, provided by Andrea. Plates and napkins by Emily1. I strung Cheerios onto elastic bracelets for the babies. Amedeo enjoyed chewing them off the elastic. Not pictured: Lindsey brought a lovely selection of breads. Emily2 brought beverages, sodas, and a very tasty red wine. Tammy provided chips and salsa and Dana arrived with some mini quiches. Amedeo really liked the quiche...he chewed on one of those for a long time! Melanie brought the veggie tray and dip. We've been enjoying the leftover carrots!
Denise made lasagne. Archana's mom made Indian fried rice. Both were delishous!
I made some turkey chili...it comes out different every time I make it...very easy to do in the slow cooker.
Another view of the chaos. The babies were all very good.
Pietro came to the party during his lunch break despite all the work and deadlines. Yay for Poppy!
Amedeo was a good host. No meltdowns!
I made banana cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. (From the book, Crazy About Cupcakes. I can post the recipe if there's any interest. Pietro has been defrosting them and eating them for breakfast. His assumption, if there's fruit of any kind involved, you can eat it for breakfast.)Here are a few of the cupcake eaters. The aftermath was not as messy as I anticipated. These kids are relatively neat! Go moms!!!
I don't know what is going on with Google Blogger...but this has been hell to format. Stupid program. I wish they'd leave it alone once in awhile. Anyhoo...if I missed anyone, it is due to the program!
Thanks for all the help! It was a very special day!
So, who's hosting the 2nd birthday party???

Amedeo was a great host and so were you!! Thank you so much for opening your home for all of us! The Cheerios bracelets were the cutest thing ever!
Beverage Mistress... I like it!
I'd love the recipe! And I'm impressed with the length of this post-- nice job, even with a stupid blogger program! Thanks again for hosting!
Thanks again for having us! Jillian enjoyed chewing off half the cheerio, and leaving a trail of other halves where she went. Oh, how I wish the cat liked cheerios! Anyhow, the sugar scrub is fantastic; thanks for doing something for us mommies! I know you were joking, but I was thinking of having Jillian's 2nd b-day party at My Gym. With enough babies, we could split the cost if anyone is interested, and they provide food, setup and cleanup?!?
okie dokie...i sent the recipe out...and Mel, Amedeo did the same thing with his bracelet. he chewed off half a cheerio and then moved on to the next one, spiting the half onto the floor. i knew there was a reason i handed those out last. :)
we'll definitely have to look into My Gym!!!
Hiya Fang! Looks like you guys had a blast; wish I knew how to get involved with a similar group here. Just wanted to point out that the pic of Pietro and Amedeo is great, especially the two candlesticks coming out of Pietro's head like antennas. Love you all!
those aren't candlesticks...his antennae poke out when he's having fun. bwa ha ha ha!
